The ETL is four-day, face to face course that is designed to enhance the provision supplied by the ECF (Early Career Framework) provider, or to provide structured CPD for teachers who are accessing the ECF or recently moved on beyond the ECF. The predominate target audience are staff who are either in year one or two of the ECF or in the year or two following this. The course could also be accessed by more experienced staff looking to enhance their teaching or returners to the profession.
The ETL is crafted in a way so that delegates are given time to observe in groups a range of lessons, experience different school settings, complete tasks in a collaborative manner and allow time for self -reflection and future planning. Many of the activities are modelled, so that delegates can see how these could be used immediately in their own classrooms.
Pre-gap tasks enable the delegates to share successes in the activities they have used with classes. Gap task set at the end of each session enable staff to try out at least one of the activities we have completed in the sessions or use an idea gathered from a colleague or classroom observation to ensure each session has a direct impact to teaching. Audit and longer-term Gap tasks ensure that key learning points taken from the course are continually embedded into classroom practice.
